Getting started with Certyneo
How do I create my account?
Go to certyneo.com/signup and enter your email address and a password. You can also sign up in one click using your Google or Microsoft account. The free plan includes 5 envelopes per month, no credit card required.
Can I try Certyneo for free?
Yes. The Free plan is unlimited in time and includes 5 envelopes per month. You can send your first documents, get them signed and explore all features with no commitment and no credit card.
How long does setup take?
Creating your account takes less than two minutes. Sending your first envelope can be done in under five minutes: upload your document, place signature fields, add signers and send. No prior training required.
Do I need to install any software?
No. Certyneo runs entirely in your web browser. No installation is required, either for the sender or the signers. Signers receive a unique link by email and can sign from their computer, tablet or smartphone.
Where can I find the API documentation?
Our developer documentation is available at api.certyneo.com (or /docs from the main site). There you will find the complete REST endpoint reference, webhook payload schemas, and request examples. API tokens are created from Settings → API in your dashboard. Check our first API call tutorial to get started.
How do I connect Certyneo to Zapier?
In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Certyneo as the trigger or action app. On first use, Zapier will ask for your API key: generate it from Settings → API in your Certyneo dashboard (format: `ct_live_…`). Paste it into Zapier; your email will be shown as confirmation. You can then trigger Zaps on Envelope Sent / Signed / Declined / Recipient Signed events, or create an envelope from any Zapier-connected app (HubSpot, Sheets, Notion, Slack…). Webhook triggers require a Standard or Business plan; actions and search work as long as your plan includes API access.

Open Settings → Integrations from your dashboard, click "Add to Slack", then authorize the Certyneo app in your Slack workspace. Choose the target channel and events to relay (envelope signed, declined, expired…). Certyneo does not share any documents with Slack: only event metadata (subject, status, signer) is posted. You can disconnect the integration at any time from the same page.

From Settings → Integrations, click "Connect HubSpot" and authorize the app on your HubSpot portal. Choose which events to publish to the contact timeline (envelope signed, declined, expired…) and enable sync so a signer is automatically created as a HubSpot contact if they don't already exist. No document is sent to HubSpot, only event metadata. The OAuth token is rotated and encrypted at rest on our servers.
How do I connect Salesforce to Certyneo?
Open Settings → Integrations, click "Connect Salesforce" then authorize the app on your Salesforce org (production or sandbox). On each envelope event, Certyneo creates a Task on the matching Contact — lookup by email, automatic Contact creation if needed (Contact required for the Task). The token is refreshed automatically server-side; you can revoke the connection at any time from the same page.
What languages is Certyneo available in?
Certyneo is available in French, English, Spanish, German and Italian. The language is selected with one click from the 🌐 selector in the navigation bar: your choice is remembered via a cookie and applies to the entire interface (dashboard, sidebar, settings, signing emails). The default language is French; signers receive emails in the language chosen by the sender. Other European languages are under consideration for 2026.
Envelopes and signatures
How do I send my first envelope?
From your dashboard, click "New envelope", upload your PDF document, drag and drop signature fields, add your signers' email addresses and click "Send". Each signer receives a unique link by email. For a step-by-step guide, see our dedicated article.
Can I sign on mobile?
Yes. Signers can access the envelope from any device: computer, tablet or smartphone. The signing interface is fully responsive and optimised for touch screens. No app to download.
What happens if a signer declines?
If a signer declines to sign, they must provide a reason. You receive an immediate email notification with the stated reason. The envelope moves to "Declined" status and you can edit it, correct the document or resend it as appropriate.
How many signers can I add to an envelope?
The number of signers depends on your plan. The Free plan is limited to one signer per envelope. The Personal, Standard and Business plans allow multiple signers with signing order management (sequential or parallel).
Can I use document templates?
Yes. From the Personal plan onwards, you can create envelope templates with pre-positioned signature fields. This lets you send recurring documents (contracts, mandates, charters) in seconds without repositioning fields each time. Browse our contract template library to get started.
Are signed documents archived?
Yes. All signed documents are archived for 10 years on our secure infrastructure in Germany (IONOS, EU). You can download them at any time from your dashboard. Each signed PDF includes a timestamped audit trail.
Billing and subscriptions
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards, as well as SEPA bank transfers for Business plans. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your bank details are never stored on our servers.
Can I change plan at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your billing area. The change takes effect immediately. If you downgrade mid-period, the amount is prorated on your next invoice.
Is there a minimum contract length?
No. All plans are month-to-month with no minimum commitment. You are billed monthly and can cancel at any time. If you choose annual billing (available on paid plans), you get two months free but commit to the annual period.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings > Billing > Cancel subscription. Your plan remains active until the end of the current period. Your documents and data are retained for 90 days after cancellation.
