Frequently asked questions about batch processing
Are my files sent to a server?
No. Every file is read, processed and archived inside your browser. On a batch that matters twice over: these are often whole folders of invoices or contracts no company wants to hand to a third party.
What happens if one file is unreadable?
The batch carries on. A folder always holds a corrupted scan or an already-protected PDF; refusing the lot would mean redoing all the others. The report names the files that failed, and the archive only contains the successes.
Two files share a name — what happens to the second?
It is renamed inside the archive (« contract (2).pdf »). Otherwise it would overwrite the first one silently, and nobody would notice until the missing document was needed.
How many files can I process at once?
The limit is your browser's memory, not a quota. Files are processed one after another and progress is shown; with very heavy documents, work in smaller groups.
Does compression degrade my documents?
No: it is a compact rewrite of the file (object streams, deduplicated resources). Neither images nor text are recomputed, so nothing loses quality. How much you gain depends on how the PDF was produced.
