Three technical and legal commitments that set us apart from American electronic signature solutions.
100% European Union hosting and jurisdiction
The entire platform is hosted in Germany on sovereign infrastructure. No data transits through the United States, which eliminates the risk of extraterritoriality from the US Cloud Act and FISA. For administrations, operators of vital importance (OIV/OSE) and regulated sectors — healthcare, banking, defense, legal — it is the guarantee of an entirely European and auditable processing chain.
Open standards and verifiable signatures
Our signatures follow ETSI EN 319 142 standards (PAdES Long-Term Validation) and RFC 3161 for timestamping. Every signed document can be verified by an independent third party — a lawyer, a bailiff, a court — without access to our platform. No proprietary lock-in: if you leave Certyneo, your signatures remain valid and enforceable for life.
Transparent pricing, no hidden fees
No hidden cost per signer, no surcharge for automatic reminders, no quota reduction at month's end. Our free plan remains indefinitely usable and includes eIDAS SES-level compliance. Paid plans start at €9/month with no annual commitment, and we offer a 14-day refund policy without justification.

Frequently Asked Questions about electronic signature
Everything you need to know before signing your first document online.
Does electronic signature have the same legal value as a handwritten signature?
Yes. The eIDAS European regulation (No. 910/2014) recognizes electronic signature as legally binding in all European Union Member States, just as a handwritten signature does. Certyneo offers the three levels provided for by the regulation (simple, advanced and qualified), with cryptographic proof timestamped and attached to each signed document.
What is the difference between simple, advanced and qualified signatures?
Simple electronic signature (SES) authenticates a signer by email and is sufficient for most commercial contracts. Advanced signature (AES) adds an SMS OTP and a certificate linked to the signer, recommended for HR, credit and sensitive contracts. Qualified signature (QES) requires face-to-face or video identity verification and offers the highest probative value provided by eIDAS.
What is the eIDAS regulation?
eIDAS (electronic IDentification, Authentication and trust Services) is European regulation No. 910/2014 governing electronic identity and trust services in the European Union since 2016. It defines the legal value of electronic signature, technical requirements for trust service providers and levels of assurance applicable to signatures.
How long are my documents archived?
All documents signed on Certyneo are retained for 10 years in an encrypted digital vault, included in all plans at no extra cost. Archiving complies with the requirements of Article 1379 of the French Civil Code and remains accessible at any time via your client dashboard or via REST API.
Is Certyneo GDPR compliant?
Yes. Certyneo is fully hosted in the European Union (Germany), no customer data leaves European territory. We offer a DPA (Data Processing Agreement) that can be signed on request, an up-to-date subprocessor register, and export and deletion tools that comply with GDPR rights for your signers.
How do I migrate from DocuSign or Yousign?
Our migration team accompanies you free of charge: recovery of your existing templates, import of your address book, training for your users and recovery of signature history when technically possible. The switch typically takes between 48 hours and 5 business days depending on volume.
What file formats are supported?
PDF natively (recommended format), as well as Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx), images (PNG, JPG) and OpenDocument. All non-PDF formats are automatically converted to PDF/A before signing to ensure long-term archiving compliant with the ISO 19005 standard.
Can I sign from a smartphone?
Yes. The signing interface is fully responsive and works on any recent mobile browser (iOS Safari, Android Chrome, Firefox), with no application to install for the signer. Administrators can manage their envelopes from our iOS and Android applications available on the App Store and Google Play.
Is there an API to integrate Certyneo?
Yes. A complete REST API allows you to create envelopes, manage templates, track statuses in real time and receive HMAC-signed webhooks for each event (send, open, sign, refuse). Public OpenAPI documentation, official SDKs, free test environment and transparent rate limits.
What is the right price for a SME?
Our Standard plan at 19 €/month covers 100 envelopes and 10 users with advanced eIDAS signature, sufficient for most SMEs. For teams exceeding this volume, the Business plan at 39 €/month adds batch sending, mobile web forms and payment collection during signing.
