Hello, I use Certyneo to send contracts to my clients. I'd like to know if it's possible to prove that my clients received and reviewed these contracts, even if they don't sign them. For example, how can I show that they opened the email and the document?
Yes, Certyneo allows you to prove that signers received and reviewed the document, even if they don't sign it. Here's how to do it:
Activity logging: Certyneo maintains a timestamped log of events. Each time a signer views the document, an entry is created in this log, indicating the date and time of opening, as well as the signer's IP address. This proves that the document was reviewed.
Email notification: When you send an envelope, Certyneo sends a notification email to the signer. If they view the document, the IP address associated with that email is recorded, which confirms that they received the email and, consequently, the document.
Audit trail: Each Certyneo envelope is sealed (PAdES) and contains an audit trail. This trail contains all information related to document review, including the IP address and opening date. You can access this trail at any time to verify this information.
In most cases, document review and email opening are sufficient to prove that the signer received and reviewed the document. However, if you need additional evidence, you can use the activity log and audit trail to demonstrate that the document was reviewed. To access this information, go to the envelope details and consult the activity log and audit trail.
