What is a Enedis connection mandate?

The Enedis connection mandate is the act by which a requester (owner, tenant with authorization, syndicate) entrusts a third party — typically the RGE QualiPV photovoltaic installer, the EV charging point (IRVE) installer, or a connection broker — with the power to carry out the entire Enedis connection procedure on their behalf: submission of the request on Enedis Connect, signature of the Connection Convention (CR), follow-up of the steps (PRO-RAC study, quote, contribution payment, commissioning). The legal framework is based on the Energy Code (art. L.342-1+) and Enedis' Technical Reference Documentation (DTR). The mandate is valid for the entire procedure duration, up to 18 months depending on power and connection type.

Why sign the Enedis connection mandate electronically?

Accepted by Enedis since 2019

Enedis has accepted connection mandates signed with eIDAS AES via the Enedis Connect portal since 2019. Article 1366 of the French Civil Code guarantees the same evidential value as a handwritten mandate. Electronic signature reduces processing times by 7-15 days compared to postal mail.

Bi-party owner + installer

The most common flow: owner + RGE QualiPV or IRVE installer. For multi-unit building connection, add the syndicate or ASL. For collective self-consumption, add the PMO. Our multi-signer flow handles all configurations.

10-year archiving + Enedis enforceability

Enedis can request the production of the mandate at any time during the procedure (up to commissioning + 5 years). Certyneo archives the mandate + eIDAS audit trail for 10 years, accessible in one click to produce proof on Enedis request or dispute.

eIDAS audit trail enforceable in court

Each mandate is delivered with a proof PDF: signatories' identity, qualified timestamping, SHA-256 hash, IP geolocation, SMS OTP verification. Enforceable against Enedis or in case of dispute on the mandate scope.

Sign a Enedis connection mandate in 4 steps

From the installer's quote to filing on Enedis Connect, the mandate secures the procedure in under 5 minutes.

  1. 1. Prepare the connection mandate

Upload your template or start from an Enedis DTR-compliant template: requester (owner) + mandatary (RGE installer) identity, scope (PRO-RAC study, CRAE, connection convention, commissioning follow-up), requested power (kVA or kWc), installation type (PV, IRVE, self-consumption).

  2. 2. Add signatories

Requester (owner) + mandatary (installer). For multi-unit building: add syndicate. For collective self-consumption: add PMO. Each receives a secure link by email.

  3. 3. Choose the eIDAS level

AES (advanced) with SMS OTP: level accepted by Enedis and compliant with article 1367 of the French Civil Code (presumption of reliability). SES (simple) technically accepted but discouraged for connections above 36 kVA.

  4. 4. Sign and file on Enedis Connect

Each signatory signs from their phone. The finalized mandate is attached to the file on Enedis Connect by the mandatary. Automatic 10-year archiving with proof PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Enedis connection mandate be signed electronically?
Yes, without restriction since 2019. Enedis accepts mandates signed with eIDAS AES via the Enedis Connect portal. The French Energy Code imposes no particular form for the mandate. Article 1367 of the French Civil Code gives AES the presumption of reliability.
What signature level for a connection mandate?
AES (advanced) recommended for all connections, de facto mandatory above 36 kVA. SES (simple) accepted for small residential connections < 36 kVA but discouraged — facing an Enedis dispute, AES with SMS OTP + qualified timestamping guarantees enforceable traceability.
What is the validity duration of an Enedis connection mandate?
The mandate is valid for the entire connection procedure duration, up to 18 months depending on power (2 months for ≤ 36 kVA, 6 months for 36-250 kVA, 12-18 months for > 250 kVA). It ends automatically at commissioning, or by express revocation.
Who can be a mandatary for an Enedis connection?
Any qualified professional: RGE QualiPV installer (PV), IRVE installer (EV charging), EnR engineering office, connection broker. For collective self-consumption, the PMO (Organizing Legal Entity) acts as mandatary for all participants.
What documents does Enedis request with the mandate?
Besides the mandate, Enedis requests: proof of property (title, lease with written authorization), site plan, single-line diagram (for PV/IRVE > 3 kVA), installer's RGE QualiPV certificate, installation quote. For collective self-consumption: PMO convention + list of participants.
Can the principal revoke the connection mandate?
Yes — article 2004 of the French Civil Code, right to revoke at any time. Revocation is notified by registered letter or equivalent electronic means to the mandatary AND to Enedis. Effect: Enedis interrupts the procedure until regularization (new mandate or takeover by the owner directly).
What Enedis connection timeline by power?
Target Enedis deadlines (Technical Reference): 2 months for ≤ 36 kVA single-phase, 6 months for 36-250 kVA three-phase, 12 months for 250-1000 kVA, 18 months for > 1000 kVA (HV connection). Electronic signature saves 7-15 days on the initial timeline.
Enedis mandate and CRAE: what difference?
The connection mandate authorizes the mandatary to ACT on behalf of the owner. The CRAE (Self-Producer Connection Convention) is the contract signed between Enedis and the owner to formalize the technical and financial conditions of the connection. The mandatary can sign the CRAE by virtue of the mandate.
