Official Notion integration

Certyneo × Notion — track your electronic signatures right inside your Notion database

Connect Certyneo to a Notion workspace and every envelope created, sent, signed or declined updates a row in the Notion database of your choice within seconds.

Requires a Certyneo account and a Notion workspace with edit rights. Free from the Certyneo Starter plan.

Why connect Certyneo to Notion

Built for teams who run their deals, contracts or client files in Notion and want to see signature progress without switching tools.

  • Automatic sync

Every Certyneo event (created, sent, signed, declined, expired) updates the Status property of a row in your Notion database, no manual action needed.

  • Ready-made database template

Duplicate our Notion database template in one click: the Subject, Status, Signers and Envelope link properties are already set up to receive data.

  • Your database, your properties

Pick any existing Notion database when connecting. Certyneo maps its fields onto the properties you already created.

  • OAuth 2.0 + encrypted tokens

Standard Notion OAuth 2.0 authentication. The integration token is encrypted AES-256-GCM at rest. Certyneo only writes to the database you designate.

Which events update Notion?

Here are the events pushed to your Notion database and the property each one updates. All are opt-in from Settings → Integrations.

EventUpdate in Notion
envelope.createdNew row created in the database, with the document subject and status "Draft".
envelope.sentStatus set to "Sent" and the signer list filled into the dedicated property.
envelope.completedStatus set to "Signed" and a link to the eIDAS proof PDF added to the row.
envelope.declinedStatus set to "Declined" with the signer's name and the reason for declining.
envelope.expiredStatus set to "Expired" so you can follow up easily from a filtered Notion view.

Updates are idempotent: a webhook retry never creates a duplicate row, it simply updates the existing one.

Security and compliance

The Notion integration follows the same security policy as the rest of Certyneo: encryption, least privilege, full audit trail, GDPR compliance.

  • Notion integration token encrypted AES-256-GCM in the PostgreSQL database, never in plain text.
  • Access limited to pages and databases you explicitly share with the Certyneo integration in Notion.
  • No Notion personal data stored beyond the database id and mapped properties.
  • Every Notion update is logged in the Certyneo audit trail with a timestamp and result (success / error).

Frequently asked questions

Which Certyneo plan includes the Notion integration?

The Notion integration is available from the Starter plan (free for 5 envelopes/month) and on every paid plan. There is no extra cost for Notion.

Do I have to use your database template or can I keep my own?

Both work. The provided template already has its properties mapped for an instant start, but you can connect any existing database and map its properties to Certyneo fields during setup.

What can Certyneo access in my Notion workspace?

Only the pages and databases you explicitly share with the integration during OAuth authorization. The rest of your workspace stays invisible to Certyneo.

How do I uninstall?

Two options: (1) in Certyneo, Settings → Integrations → Disconnect button — deletes the encrypted token and stops all syncing; (2) in Notion, Settings → Connections → Certyneo → Remove access.

Can I turn off certain events?

Yes. In Settings → Integrations → Notion, check the events you want. Changes take effect immediately.

Is there a risk of hitting a Notion rate limit under heavy activity?

No. Certyneo respects Notion's API limits and queues updates during activity spikes, with no data loss.
