Make + Certyneo + Google Sheets: automatically track your signed envelopes
Last updated
Many teams still maintain a manual tracking spreadsheet of their signed contracts. This guide builds a Make scenario that automatically adds a row in Google Sheets each time a Certyneo envelope is finalized.
Why log your signatures in a spreadsheet
A spreadsheet remains, for many sales, legal or HR teams, the reference tool for tracking a portfolio of contracts. Automating this logging prevents oversights and ensures that each signed contract appears in the table, without manual re-entry.
The scenario below is triggered by the Envelope finalized event and adds a row in a Google Sheets spreadsheet with the essential information from the envelope.
Prerequisites
- A Certyneo account with an API key generated from the developer space.
- A Make account connected to the Certyneo application.
- A Google account with access to Google Sheets, connected to Make.
- An existing Google Sheets spreadsheet with a header row.
Build the scenario
Create the trigger
Add the Certyneo Envelope finalized module as the first module of the scenario.
Add the Google Sheets module
Add the Google Sheets Add a row module, pointed to your tracking spreadsheet.
Map the fields
Associate each column of the spreadsheet with a field from the envelope (client, signing date, status, document link).
Test with a real envelope
Complete a test envelope and verify that a new row appears correctly in the spreadsheet.
Which columns to log
- Name or business name of the signing client.
- Date of sending and effective date of signing of the envelope.
- Final status (signed, refused, expired).
- Link to the document archived in Certyneo.
Frequently asked questions
What Certyneo data can be sent to Google Sheets?
The envelope's subject, status, signer e-mails, sent and signed dates, plus the download link for the signed PDF.
Does the scenario also work for declined envelopes?
Yes — add a second scenario or a router on the Envelope declined trigger to log declines in a separate tab.
Do I need a specific Certyneo API key?
A standard API key with the webhooks scope is enough; no additional write scope is required for this tracking scenario.
