- Does an electronically signed acceptance report have the same legal value as a paper acceptance report?
- Yes, exactly the same. Article 1367 of the Civil Code and the European eIDAS regulation recognize electronic signature as equivalent to handwritten signature. The electronically signed report starts the warranty periods (satisfactory completion, two-year warranty, ten-year warranty) from the document's time-stamp date. The date is even more enforceable than a paper report (qualified RFC 3161 time-stamp) as it cannot be modified.
- Can you sign on a construction site without 4G connection?
- Yes for viewing and local signing. The signature link opens in the browser; if the signatory is in a dead zone, they can sign offline and the signature will be transmitted as soon as the network returns. - Is electronic signature accepted by insurance companies for decennial insurance?
- Yes. Decennial insurers accept electronically signed reception reports as the starting point for coverage, provided the signature complies with eIDAS (advanced level recommended for amounts exceeding €100,000). The RFC 3161 audit trail included in the signed PDF is stronger evidence than a handwritten signature on paper for the reception date.
- How do you sign a subcontracting agreement with a subcontractor who doesn't have an account?
- No account is required on the signatory side. You (main contractor) send the DC4 contract from your Certyneo account: the subcontractor receives an email with a personalized link, signs in a few clicks, the client then receives their own signature request for approval. You pay per envelope sent, the subcontractor signs for free.
