For electronic signatures specifically, compliance covers the technical requirements of the applicable framework (IT Act 2000 in India, eIDAS in the EU, ESIGN/UETA in the US) plus data-protection rules (DPDP Act 2023, GDPR).
Indian legal context
Indian businesses signing with EU clients have a dual-compliance obligation: the local signature must satisfy IT Act 2000 requirements, AND the audit trail must withstand scrutiny under the relevant EU procurement standard (eIDAS QES is the safest default).
