Choose Certyneo if…

Stay with Yousign if…

Frequently asked questions

Yousign and Certyneo are both French — what is the real difference?

Both solutions are French, hosted in the EU and eIDAS compliant. The practical differences: (1) Certyneo charges per envelope on its paid plans, while Yousign charges per sending user beyond its One plan, which is limited to a single user; (2) Certyneo includes the REST API from the Standard plan at €19/month, whereas the Yousign API is not included in any of the app's plans and is sold separately, from €104 excl. VAT per month; (3) both offer a permanent free plan — 2 signature invitations per month at Yousign, 5 envelopes for 14 days then 2 per month at Certyneo — but only Certyneo sells the qualified signature per signature on it, which Yousign reserves for its Plus and Pro plans; (4) the Certyneo interface is available in 24 languages, Yousign's in 10.

Can I migrate my Yousign envelopes to Certyneo?

Yes, for signed contracts: the Yousign export provides signed PDFs with a proof certificate, and our free migration offer brings them into your Certyneo vault. Each PDF is archived as Yousign produced it: its legal value remains what Yousign gave it. Templates, however, are recreated in the Certyneo editor.

If Yousign and Certyneo are equivalent in compliance, why switch?

Compliance (eIDAS, GDPR, EU hosting) is only a prerequisite — not a differentiator. The choice is made based on pricing model, API access, free plan, and language coverage. If your use case is only a few envelopes per month in French, Yousign may be suitable.

Is Yousign cheaper for micro-businesses?

Not necessarily. Yousign's One plan costs €9 excl. VAT per month, but it is limited to a single user and 10 signature invitations per month. As soon as 3 people send contracts, you have to move up to the Plus plan, billed at €23 excl. VAT per user: €69 excl. VAT per month at the very least. Certyneo Personal at €9/month includes 25 envelopes, and Certyneo Standard at €19/month covers up to 10 users, without charging for each sending user.

Yousign hosts in France (OVHcloud), Certyneo in the European Union (IONOS) — what is the GDPR impact?

None for GDPR compliance: both hosts are in the European Union, subject to GDPR and outside the US Cloud Act. The difference lies in operational resilience (IONOS and OVHcloud have different SLA histories) and local certifications (HDS for healthcare is more mature on OVH's side). For the majority of use cases, the choice is neutral.

How much does the REST API cost at Yousign vs Certyneo?

At Yousign, the API is not included in any of the app's plans: it is sold on a separate price list, starting at €104 excl. VAT per month. At Certyneo, the REST API and webhooks are included from the Standard plan at €19/month (10 users included) — more than five times cheaper for the same integration need.

Is bulk multi-signer sending available at Yousign?

Yes, but only on Yousign's Pro plan, at €38 excl. VAT per user per month: bulk signing is not available on Free, One or Plus. Certyneo includes it from the Business plan (€39/month) with a no-code interface to send the same document to 100 recipients at once — useful for annual HR contracts, updated terms and conditions or NDAs in bulk.

Does Yousign offer OHADA legal templates?

No. Yousign primarily targets the EU-EEE market. Certyneo covers EU jurisdictions + OHADA (West and Central Africa: 17 countries — Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, etc.) with templates adapted to OHADA law and accepts Mobile Money (Orange Money, Wave, MTN) via CinetPay. Relevant for companies with African subsidiaries.

Yousign is becoming Youtrust — does this comparison still hold?

Yes. The rename, announced in November 2025, took effect in July 2026. Same company, same offering: “Yousign” remains the name of the signature product within the Youtrust platform. The pricing compared here was recorded in September 2026 on the Youtrust site.
