TLS (Transport Layer Security)

TLS (Transport Layer Security) is the cryptographic protocol that secures communications over the Internet, succeeding SSL. It ensures confidentiality (encryption), integrity and server authentication (via its certificate). TLS 1.3, the current version, mandates modern cipher suites and a handshake in a single round-trip.
