Electronic signature from Dropbox
Right-click a PDF in your Dropbox, choose "Open with Certyneo", and prepare the signature. Or pick a file from the Dropbox picker built into Certyneo — no downloading and re-uploading anything.
Free connection. Certyneo only accesses the files you designate, never your whole Dropbox.
What the integration changes day to day
The "download from Dropbox, upload to the signing tool" back-and-forth disappears. The document goes out for signature right where it's already stored.
"Open with Certyneo" in Dropbox
Right-clicking any PDF in your Dropbox opens envelope preparation directly: recipients, fields, sending.
The Dropbox picker inside Certyneo
From your document library, the official Dropbox picker lets you pick one or more PDFs, including from a shared folder.
Signed copy returned to Dropbox
Once the envelope is completed, the signed PDF with its eIDAS proof can be sent back automatically to the original Dropbox folder.
Access limited to designated files
Certyneo requests a narrow scope that only grants access to files you explicitly designate. Your other documents stay invisible.
What each step does
An overview of the journey between Dropbox and Certyneo, from picking the file to the signed document coming back.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Selection | You pick a PDF from Dropbox ("Open with" menu) or from the Dropbox picker inside Certyneo. |
| Import | The file is imported into your Certyneo library, with no intermediate copy on your computer. |
| Preparation | You add signers and place signature fields, as with any Certyneo document. |
| Signature | Each signer receives their link and signs. Status is visible in real time on your dashboard. |
| Return | The signed PDF and its eIDAS proof can be sent back automatically to the chosen Dropbox folder. |
The integration never modifies an existing Dropbox file: it imports a copy and, optionally, drops the signed result alongside it.

Security and compliance
The Dropbox integration follows the same security policy as the rest of Certyneo: encryption, least privilege, full audit trail, GDPR compliance.
- Dropbox access token encrypted AES-256-GCM in the PostgreSQL database, never in plain text.
- Scope limited to files you explicitly designate, no access to your whole Dropbox.
- No Dropbox personal data stored beyond the imported file's metadata.
- Every import and every returned signed file are logged in the Certyneo audit trail.
Frequently asked questions
Which Certyneo plan includes the Dropbox integration?
The Dropbox integration is available from the Starter plan (free for 5 envelopes/month) and on every paid plan.

Does the signed PDF come back to Dropbox automatically?
You can enable automatic return in Settings → Integrations → Dropbox. Otherwise, the signed PDF stays downloadable from Certyneo.
