Frequently asked questions
What is a QTSP?
A QTSP (Qualified Trust Service Provider) is a trust service provider (TSP) audited and registered on the trusted list of an EU Member State under the eIDAS regulation. Qualification is the highest level of European recognition.
What is the qualification of a QTSP used for?
It is mandatory to issue qualified certificates, qualified timestamps or qualified signatures (QES) — the level required for public procurement, notarial deeds or certain social procedures.
Who maintains the list of QTSPs in France?
In France, ANSSI maintains the official list of qualified providers (for example docaposte, Universign/Oodrive, CertEurope). Each EU Member State publishes its own trusted list under eIDAS.
Is Certyneo a QTSP?
Certyneo interfaces with several QTSPs to trigger qualified signatures (QES) when the qualified level is required, rather than issuing qualified certificates itself.
