No, and that limit is deliberate: the tool reads the page text. A run of dots, a box drawn as a character or a label ending with a colon are recognised; a plain line drawn under « Signature » is not, because it is not text. Conversely a row of leader dots in a table of contents may be proposed by mistake: that is why you review the list before placing the fields.

Because they are what identifies the answers when the form is read back — in a spreadsheet, in another piece of software, or in an integration. A form whose fields are called « field_7 » is unusable. The tool therefore reuses the label printed on the page, and lets you correct it.

The format allows it, with a precise effect: two fields with the same name share their value, so typing in one fills the other. Useful for a mention repeated at the top of every page, disastrous when unintended. The tool therefore refuses duplicates, and makes names unique automatically.
