This offer letter states the position, start date, compensation, at-will employment status, and a confidentiality commitment. The at-will language is important in the US: it makes clear the letter is not an employment contract for a fixed term, which protects the employer from an implied-contract claim. Keep the letter concise and avoid promises about job security, bonuses, or future raises unless you intend to be bound by them.
