Create an electronic signature in 30 seconds
Do you need an electronic signature to sign your contracts online? No need to print-scan or buy a stylus: Certyneo lets you create your signature directly in your browser, in 30 seconds, for free. Once created, it is reusable on all your documents and accompanied by an invisible cryptographic layer that makes it compliant with the eIDAS regulation.
Layer 1
The visible signature
This is what you see on the document: your name scribbled, typed in calligraphic font or an image of your scanned signature. It has a visual and recognition role — but on its own, it does not prove that it was really you who signed.
Layer 2
The cryptographic signature
This is the invisible layer that gives it legal value: document fingerprint + timestamp + digital certificate + signer identification (email + IP + OTP). Without it, your visible signature is just an image — forgeable and contestable.
The 3 methods to create your visible signature
All three are accepted by Certyneo and retain the same legal validity as long as the cryptographic layer is present. The choice depends on your device and your aesthetic preferences.
Draw with the mouse or your finger
Reproduce your handwritten signature directly in the browser. On mobile, finger tracing gives the most natural rendering; on computer, the mouse requires a bit of patience but remains usable.
Ideal for : Personal signature, mobile, tablet
Type your name in calligraphic font
Enter your name and choose from several handwriting-style fonts. The generated signature is neat, legible, and ideal for professional mailings where aesthetics matter.
Ideal for : B2B contracts, HR, accounting
Import an image of your signature
Scan your signature on paper (or take a photo of it), then import the PNG/JPG into Certyneo. The white background is automatically removed for clean rendering on the signed document.
Ideal for : Consistent visual identity, multi-document
Why create your signature with Certyneo
At Certyneo, the signature you create is not just a pasted image: it is encapsulated in an X.509 digital certificate generated on the fly, linked to your identity verified by email (SES) or by SMS OTP (AES). The result is a reusable electronic signature, eIDAS compliant, and accepted by all jurisdictions in the European Union.
- 3 creation modes (drawing, text, image)
- Reusable across all your documents
- Automatic cryptographic layer
- Integrated identity verification
- eIDAS compliant (SES + AES)
- EU hosting, no Cloud Act
How to create your electronic signature step by step
- 1

- 2
Open the signature editor
In your dashboard, click on "My signature" then choose the method (drawing, text or image).

- 4
Use it on any document
Each time you send a document to sign, your signature will be proposed automatically. You can modify it or create several at any time.
Warning: a scanned signature is not a legal electronic signature
Pasting an image of your scanned signature into a PDF (for example via Word or Acrobat) has no legal value: nothing proves that it was really you who signed. For an electronic signature to be admissible in court, it must be accompanied by a signature certificate, a timestamp, and an audit trail. This is exactly what Certyneo adds to your visible signature.
Frequently asked questions about creating an electronic signature
- How long does it take to create an electronic signature?
- Approximately 30 seconds with Certyneo: open the editor, draw or type, validate. Once created, it is reusable on all your documents without having to redo it each time.
- Do you need a stylus or touchscreen to create your signature?
- No. You can draw it with a mouse, type it in calligraphic font, or import an image of your scanned signature. All three methods are legally equivalent as long as the eIDAS cryptographic layer is added by Certyneo.
- Does my signature created online have the same value as a handwritten signature?
- Yes, under two conditions: the solution must be eIDAS compliant (as is the case with Certyneo), and the signature level must match the legal stakes. For most private contracts, a simple signature (SES) or advanced signature (AES) is sufficient. For notarial deeds, a qualified signature (QES) is required.
- Can I create multiple different electronic signatures?
- Yes. You can create multiple signatures (for example: a personal signature and a professional signature with your title) and choose which one to use each time you send a document.
- What happens if I want to modify my signature later?
- You can modify or recreate your signature at any time from your dashboard. Documents already signed remain valid — the signature on them is frozen in the signed PDF.
