Electronic Signature for Construction

Building, civil engineering and public works companies sign an average of 50 to 200 documents per site: accepted quotes, subcontracting contracts, inspection reports, amendments, delivery notes. Electronic signature eliminates paper back-and-forth between office, site and suppliers — sign everything online, from a phone, in seconds, with full legal value (eIDAS).

Construction loses weeks per project chasing signatures

An average site generates 50 to 200 documents to sign among the client, project manager, main contractor and subcontractors. Postal delays, rescheduled meetings and lost documents block work start, payment of invoices and reservation clearance. With mobile electronic signature, each document is signed on-site, from the construction site, and archived instantly with its audit trail.

All construction documents signable online

From the commercial phase to delivery, through subcontracting and site amendments. Legal compliance is strictly equivalent to paper (Civil Code article 1367, eIDAS regulation).

Subcontracting Agreements

DC4 contracts, subcontracting agreements, approvals by the project owner. Multi-party signature with guaranteed order (main contractor, subcontractor, project owner). Compliance with the Law of December 31, 1975 on subcontracting.

Work Acceptance Reports

Acceptance reports with or without reservations, reservation releases, completion certificates. On-site signature with RFC 3161 time-stamping — indisputable proof of reception date for warranties (final completion, biennial, decennial).

Accepted Quotes and Purchase Orders

Reduction of signature time from several days to just minutes. The client receives the quote by e-mail, signs with one click from their phone, the salesman is notified immediately and can schedule the intervention.

Change Orders During Construction

Modification work, additional service requests, specification changes. Immediate signature from the site to avoid delays — no need to return to the office, no postponed meetings.

Delivery Slips and Certificates

Supplier delivery notes, worker presence certificates, URSSAF certificates, compliance certificates. Mobile signature for the site manager, automatic 10-year archival.

Regulatory Documents and Compliance

DPGF, CCTP, technical reports, decennial insurance certificates, Qualibat certificates. Advanced signature (AES) with identity verification for documents enforceable against the administration.

Why Construction is Most Benefiting from Going Digital

Signature Time Cut by 10

A work acceptance report that took 5 to 10 days to get signed by all parties is signed in less than 24 hours. Situation payments are unblocked faster, cash flow improves.

Mobile Signature on Site

No application to install. The signer receives an SMS or e-mail, opens the link, signs with their finger on their phone. Compatible with Android tablets used on construction sites.

Enforceable RFC 3161 Audit Trail

Each signature includes the date, IP address, authentication method, qualified time-stamp. Essential in case of dispute over the reception date (start of warranties) or the signer's identity.

Frequently Asked Questions — Construction Electronic Signature

Does an electronically signed work acceptance report have the same value as a paper report?
Yes, strictly the same. Article 1367 of the Civil Code and the European eIDAS regulation recognize electronic signature as equivalent to handwritten signature. The electronically signed report starts the warranties (final completion, biennial, decennial) from the document's time-stamp date. The date is even more enforceable than a paper report (qualified RFC 3161 time-stamping) as it cannot be modified.
Can you sign on a site without 4G connection?
Yes for viewing and local signing. The signature link opens in the browser; if the signer is in a no-coverage area, they can sign offline and the signature will be transmitted as soon as the network returns. For underground or very remote sites, the Certyneo mobile application keeps signatures in cache until reconnection.
Is electronic signature accepted by insurance companies for decennial coverage?
Yes. Decennial insurers accept work acceptance reports signed electronically as the start of warranties, provided the signature complies with eIDAS (advanced level recommended for amounts exceeding €100,000). The RFC 3161 audit trail included in the signed PDF is stronger proof than a handwritten signature on paper for the reception date.
How do I sign a subcontracting agreement with a subcontractor who doesn't have an account?
No account is required from the signer's side. You (main contractor) send the DC4 contract from your Certyneo account: the subcontractor receives an e-mail with a personalized link, signs in a few clicks, the project owner then receives their own signature request for approval. You pay per envelope sent, the subcontractor signs for free.
Can electronic signature be integrated into site management software (Onaya, Tolteck, Batappli)?
Yes via REST API. Major construction ERP systems integrate with Certyneo either natively (pre-built connectors) or via API: one click in your software sends the document to sign, signature status automatically returns to the site folder, the signed PDF is archived in the client folder. For Onaya, Tolteck, Batappli, EBP Bâtiment: contact our team for configuration.
